Hypothetically speaking, if someone was just hired by the Department of Corrections and was attending the academy, and this person was to default on their mortgage, could this result in termination? What if it lead to a foreclosure? Would a foreclosure on his/her record lead to termination?

It is not a crime to have a foreclosure so probably not. I would look at the bylaws of the Corrections department your working for….they usually have it listed somewhere that you cannot be convicted of a crime etc. etc. If there would be something about bad credit or foreclosures it would say so. You should be fine.

Now that he has a job I would go to the bank or loan company and show proof that he does indeed have a job and then work something out with them so as to keep foreclosure from happening. Banks do not like foreclosure they lose money on them.

I Dont Think Something Like That Needs To Be Reported. But If It Is Of Course You Must. If You Dont And It Is Against Regulations Than You Could Be Terminated For Failure To Report It. The Bank Will Call Your Employer. Good Luck.
