How do you feel about paying for all of the inflated gains that real estate sellers have reaped?

It is more complicated than just that but the national financial mess really is due to sales and purchases of over inflated real estate that buyers could not afford in the first place. The real estate market’s value is now adjusting downward to its real value. Unfortunately we are going to have to pay for the bailout with more taxes.

Can Obama or McCain get us out of the mess? I don’t think so.

The $700 Billion Bail Out is an unnecessary act, the financial analog of the patriot act. Further, like then, they’re putting forth a false dichotomy. There are other solutions.
Deregulation is directly responsible for this crisis. Giving $700 Billion to the same miscreants who got us into this mess and managed by the same administration that gave billions to Oil, wrote a “no negotiation” clause in Medicare Part D is an absolutely crummy idea.
And, Holy Smokes, look at the language in the proposed act:
“ Decisions by the Secretary pursuant to the authority of this Act are non-reviewable and committed to agency discretion, and may not be reviewed by any court of law or any administrative agency.”
That just won’t do!

your point is valid — however, no one held a gun to the heads of the buyers and forced them to sign the contracts.
here’s what i think the real issues are:
President Bush, in my opinion, wasn’t clear enough — maybe because he didn’t want to scare people when they really need to be scared.

I love it.
Can’t wait to do it again.
