A friend of my mom who is in real estate told me she gets 1,000 commission for every 50,000 in sales. So, if she sells a house for 350,000, she gets 7,000.

Real estate commissions do not change in any fashion because the property being sold is involved in an estate. A typical real estate commission would be six percent of the final sales price of the property. Commission rates vary by area.
